Interview with W.F. Bell

Although he is extremely busy right now WF Bell graciously took the time to answer a few questions for his fans. He is known for his work on The Walking Dead & Rob Zombie’s 31 as well as MANY others. He is currently very busy with some independent projects that many of his fellow TWD actors are involved in. WF will be in Senoia, GA once again this Memorial Day. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to meet him and many other TWD actors & artists at Camp Marimac Charity Bash.

You are very busy currently.  What can you share about some upcoming films/series we can see you in?

A. Absolutely! I've been focusing on independent projects this year. They have more flexibility for me to showcase what I can do without the restrictions of bigger productions. I shot an indie horror film a couple of months ago where I live, called "Night to Day", had some fun with that one. I shot another indie in early March, which was a Western, called "Blood is My Fate". That was written and directed by my friend and fellow Savior Brother Zach Ball. Had a blast doing that one! Great cast and crew, it was an awesome experience! I love Westerns! We also have one in pre-production, it's for a series called "Suttersville", and that was written by my friend and another fellow Savior brother, Gary Brock. There are several Saviors cast in that one TWD fans! And...I was just recently cast for another indie film shooting later this year called "For the Love of my Daughter". That one is based on a true story, and it already has a great cast lined up, I can't wait to work with them! I think that's about it for now, but that may change by the time this interview is published!

W.F Bell

This will be your 2nd Memorial day weekend in Senoia.  How was last year’s experience?

A. It was amazing! I was blown away at the amount of people that traveled from so far away to be part of it! It's always awesome to make new friends! TWD has really brought people together that may not have otherwise ever met. It is a fandom like I've never seen, I'm honored to be a part of it!

What are you looking forward to this year?

A. Just getting to be part of both events (Camp Marimac Charity Bash & Senoia Dead Bash), hanging out with old friends and making some new ones! I'll be promoting these indie projects I spoke of earlier as well, and I'm definitely looking forward to telling people about those! And maybe partaking in a Guinness or two ;)

What role, if any, deeply affected you personally, perhaps even changed you in a permanent manner?

A. This is a tough one. Probably when we shot episode 701. The scene with Negan, Rick, and Carl. I'm glad I wasn't in that frame, not sure how "supportive" of Negan I could have portrayed lol. Of course it's fiction and makes for interesting storytelling, but from a father's standpoint, that kinda screwed with me. I have two sons not much younger than Chandler, ain't no way in hell I'd do that to them. Guess the story would have ended there if I was Rick lol. **Sorry if there was any spoiler in this answer, hurry up and catch up Netflix viewers!! LOL!

What attracted you to begin a career as an actor?

A. I've loved movies and TV since I was a kid. Everything about it. The writing, the portrayal of different characters, special effects, cinematography, all of it. I just never thought I'd get an opportunity do something like this. I'm from a small town in north Florida, not much in the way of film or TV happens there. But thankfully there were things I could read to learn about industry stuff when I was growing up. I used to have a subscription to this movie magazine called Cinefantastique. I would read them cover to cover, numerous times. They would talk about the making of upcoming movies, highlight actors and directors, stuff like that. I would also get this horror-based magazine called Fangoria when I'd see them at the store. Special effects are fascinating to me, and getting to work on a show like TWD, you are seeing the "All-Stars" bringing all these cool things to life! I love it!

Who are your favorite actors? Or actors who have inspired you?

A. Clint Eastwood, Kathy Bates, Gary Oldman, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Billy Bob Thornton, Sylvester Stallone...just to name a few...then of course all of the TWD cast ;)

Most challenging role to date?

A. Probably playing a prison inmate in the Tupac Biopic "All Eyez on Me". We filmed a prison riot scene that was very physical. I was sore for days after that lol.

Anything else you would like to share?

A. Thank you to everyone taking the time to read this, it means a lot! I'm still relatively new to the industry, this is my 4th year. I'm hoping to earn bigger roles as I gain more experience moving forward. However, I am extremely grateful for whatever 3'x 3' space they cast me to occupy. It's a competitive business, and I'm fully aware there's a ton of people that would love the opportunity to have this experience. I'll never take it for granted, and I hope to continue to make everyone that's been keeping up with me proud! I will keep working hard to get better at the craft! I appreciate the support while I continue to pursue this endeavor into professional storytelling! Ya'll are awesome!
